Color Picker helps you pick color from a selected color or uploaded image. Screen display and image color profiles can change the perceived color.
How Color Picker works
Sample the selected pixel or browser color input and convert channels.
Choose and convert
Sample a pixel or enter a color, then show HEX, RGB and a swatch. An alpha channel needs separate handling because ordinary six digit HEX describes opaque RGB.
Design context
Check contrast against the actual background and test on multiple screens. A picked pixel from a compressed image may differ from the original design value.
Reading the result
The main output is HEX, RGB and preview swatch. Read labels, units, source and check time where applicable. Screen display and image color profiles can change the perceived color. Compare the result with your original input and verify published pages or files separately where relevant.
